Epic Sunset over the West Dorset Coast
At the peak of a stunning early March sunset, I snapped this shot from West Bay Pier, looking towards Lyme Regis, Charmouth and Golden Cap. I had never seen such a beautiful sunset and it will take something even more epic to beat it!

Durdle Door Sunset 180
A rather nice sunset created a hazy streak across this image, take from the South West Coast Path. Having planned to shoot directly towards the sun nearer to the path down to the beach, I opted for a 180-degree panoramic shot instead. It faded a few moments afterwards, so I'm glad I ran along the footpath, even if it did nearly kill me! Taken with my Samyang 14mm, so the distortion is a little strange. But I like it nonetheless.

Charmouth Reflections
During a particularly warm spell of December 2015, air from the Sahara Desert dragged up vast amounts of sand north to the UK. The fiery orange glow of this sunset caught my eye while I was in work, so I hotfooted it down to Charmouth Beach to get a few shots.

Golden Sunrise over the Dorset Coast
A stunning sunrise on a misty November morning, taken from the harbour wall at West Bay, Bridport, Dorset.

February Sunset at Burton Bradstock
A wonderful sunset at Burton Bradstock, just hours after the West Dorset coast was battered by the final big storm of the winter. To the right of the image, you can see a large boulder has broken off from the overhang of the cliff. Earlier that day, a huge cliff fall occurred at nearby West Bay. The cliffs are very unstable at the moment, so I kept well back!

Dramatic Clouds over the West Dorset Coast
Superb cloud formations led to heavy showers and sunshine one evening in May, so I headed to Burton Bradstock and shot this from Hive Beach.
-

Sunset over Berrow Sands
A rare outing outside of my natural habitat of Dorset. Went to Berrow Sands, near Weston-super-Mare, to go hunting for an old shipwreck. I found the remains of a wooden ship later, but this was taken just before the sun set.
-

Glowing Osmington Mills
A long-lasting hazy sunset looking out to Weymouth and Portland, taken in February 2013. The pools of water are continually changing here and offer interesting opportunities to photograph.
-

Charmouth Beach Sunset
A lesson in perseverance - when I arrived at Charmouth Beach that afternoon, the scene was nothing like this, just a small streak of orange. Lo and behold, the large cloud cleared and this scene was presented to me. I couldn't resist taking a photo or two.
-

Sunset at Osmington
Another glorious Dorset sunset. This was my first visit to Osmington and I ended up staying on the beach for a good couple of hours. Initially, I set out to photograph the waterfall there, but after getting very average results, I turned around and focused on this sunset.

When all else fails, fly a kite...
Super sunset and a light breeze at Berrow Sands in Somerset.
-

Winter Sunset over Burton Bradstock Beach
After a day of shooting in West Bay, I fancied a change of scenery, so hotfooted it down to Burton Bradstock Beach, where the sun setting in the east lit up the remnants of that afternoon's storm clouds.

Milky Seas around Portland Bill
Making use of my new 10-stop ND filter in not so serene conditions at Portland Bill. A 30-second exposure of the sun setting behind the lighthouse gives the impression that all is calm, but this was a very windy day with big waves! I managed to capture this between sessions of cleaning the lens from the sea spray.
-

Waves crash in front of a backlit Portland Bill
Stormy seas batter the southern tip of Portland, as the sun sets behind Portland Bill Lighthouse in Dorset.
-

Why Does It Always Rain On Me?
As a downpour passed over a large ship on the horizon, I snapped this shot when the two were aligned. Taken from West Bay Harbour wall.
-

Storm at West Bay
Stormy clouds gather above East Cliff at West Bay beach. I got out of there just before it started tipping it down! HDR of 9 exposures. Nikon D800, Nikkor 20/2.8, various ND filters.

The Port of Ferragudo
A traditional colourful fishing boats sits on the estuary of the river Arade, which flows between Ferragudo and Portimão in Portugal's Algarve.
-

On a Cliff's Edge
The view from Golden Cap, the highest point on England's south coast, is somewhat spectacular. Don't venture too close to the edge though! This part of the coastline is constantly changing, with landslips a frequent hazard.
-

Stormy West Bay
Waves crash into the rocks of the harbour wall at West Bay, Bridport, Dorset.
-

Various States of Jurassic Coast
The sheer variety of rock formations, flora and fauna are demonstrated with this view from the top of Golden Cap. Between the two peaks in the distance is Charmouth. Golden Cap is the highest point on the south coast of England.
-

Sunset behind Portland Bill
The sky behind Portland Bill glows a fiery orange as the sun sets on a cold February afternoon.
-

West Bay Pokes Out
The monolith of East Cliff and the harbour wall of West Bay poke out from behind the hills of the Coast Path. This is the view atop Golden Cap, the highest point on the entire south coast of the UK.
