Winter Sunrise over West Dorset A stitched panorama of two shots, taken from Quarr Hill in Bridport. To the left is Colmer's Hill, in the foreground is Symondsbury, and the misty hills stretch to Bridport and beyond.
Sunset Rainbows at East Cliff A break in the clouds on the horizon, coupled with a torrential downpour a couple of miles down the coast combined to create this autumn evening scene. Rainbows can be seen above Freshwater Beach and Burton Bradstock Beach.
Golden Morning in West Bay East Cliff is somewhere in amongst that mist! Taken just before another big bank of mist rolled in this chilly November morning.
Hazy Sunset above Colmer's Hill March 2014 brought its fair share of excellent sunsets. This was taken on Allington Hill, looking west towards Symondsbury and Colmer's Hill. Mist was beginning to rise as the warmth of the day gave way to a clear, cold evening.
Hazy Start at East Cliff On a misty March morning, I ran down West Bay pier to capture this shot of the sun burning off the first of the morning mist. Panorama of shots taken with a Nikon 50/1.4 AF-S.
Fire in the Sky above West Bay Panoramic shot taken in February 2014, during a particularly good late winter sunset.
Sun Rises on East Cliff This December sunrise took a while to materialise, as the sun had to rise over a bank of cloud on the horizon. But it was worth the wait, as East Cliff was briefly bathed in golden sunlight.
Tumult Taken during one of the first storms of winter 2013/14, with big waves and high tide hitting East Beach at West Bay, Dorset.
Stunning Sunset over the Jurassic Coast Just made it to West Bay in time to catch the peak of this fantastic sunset, as high textured clouds caught the last of the setting sun's light. Photographed from West Bay Pier and assembled of 3 shots in a panorama.
Hazy Sunset above Colmer's Hill March 2014 has certainly brought its fair share of excellent sunsets. This was taken on Allington Hill, looking west towards Symondsbury and Colmer's Hill. Mist was beginning to rise as the warmth of the day gave way to a clear, cold evening.
Leaden Skies over East Cliff After two days of the West Dorset coast being battered by storm surges, high tides, heavy rain and wind, this evening presented a break in the clouds, lighting up the iconic cliffs of West Bay and Burton Bradstock with black clouds behind.
East Cliff Glows under Evening Skies The remnants of a gorgeous March sunset light up clouds over West Bay's East Cliff, setting for much of the ITV drama series Broadchurch. Above the cliff, a full moon rises.
Lyme Regis is on Fire! A truly remarkable sunset above the Jurassic Coast, taken from West Bay's harbour wall, looking west towards Charmouth and Lyme Regis. This shot was taken almost an hour after the sun had actually set.
Sunset over West Beach An early spring sunset lights up West Beach at West Bay, Bridport. You can just see the red sun setting through the heavy haze that was a feature of the weather that afternoon.
St. Jude vs West Bay - The Morning After Well, after an impressive and, thankfully, not-too-damaging storm, I braved East Beach at West Bay before work to snap a few shots of the rising sun. Rain over Weymouth and Portland was nicely backlit by the sun.
Waves Crash into West Bay Pier The morning after the last of the big winter storms, and there will still plenty of big waves to be found. Goodness knows what West Bay looked like during the peak of the storms that hit us in January and February 2014. I certainly wasn't brave/foolhardy enough to go down and find out!
Perfect Autumn West Bay Day Got to love those hazy clouds!
Bothen Hill - What a Sunset! This is a still from a 900-shot time-lapse of the sunset on the evening of 29th August 2013. The colours in the sky lingered long after the sun set. This shot was taken around half an hour after the sun had gone down, as it continued to fire up the high clouds and haze in the sky.
Towering East Cliff East Cliff, at West Bay, Bridport, towers over walkers along East Beach. This iconic cliffs features heavily in the ITV Drama series Broadchurch, which was partly filmed in the West Dorset harbour town.
Sunset in May over the Bay A pretty sunset over West Bay's harbour, where the River Brit meets the sea. Shot on the evening of 15th May 2013.
Mad Clouds above West Bay Pier Right place, right time. This massive rain cloud did not pass directly over West Bay, but it was clearly visible. A few spots of rain from its trail send people running for shelter, whilst I ran the opposite way to capture this shot. I stood on the outer wall of the unusually empty circular end of West Bay's promenade.
Last Sunset in May over West Bay Always leaving it a little bit too late, I scrambled up East Cliff to get this shot overlooking West Bay. This was the sunset of the evening of Friday 31st May 2013. Haze, high cloud and plane trails made the scene all the more special.
The Sun Sets over the Jurassic Coast A brilliant sunset above the coastline, looking West towards Charmouth and Lyme Regis. To the right, a couple walk towards the camera.
Dramatic Clouds Above West Bay Harbour A brilliant sunset above the coastline, looking West towards Charmouth and Lyme Regis. To the right, a couple walk towards the camera.
October Evening on Quarr Hill A brief moment during a tumultuous day of weather when the sun broke through the clouds and lit up Colmer's Hill and Bridport. Usually the best spot for sunrises, I was surprised to get a good evening shot on Quarr Hill, just west of Symondsbury and Bridport.
